The “Le Vigne di Franca” vineyard was born from an idea of the owner who in 1998 decided to buy a farm in Santa Petronilla (Fermo), a small plot owned by the curia of Fermo that had been in use for renters for many centuries.
Here was planted a vineyard of fine strains of native Montepulciano and Sangiovese vines with some international Merlot grapes of great value and potential.
It took three years to renovate the house as we wanted, plant the vineyard, but in the end the property turned out to be a quiet oasis and a stone’s throw from both the city and the sea.
The positioning of the vineyard that goes from East to West is perfect for the microclimate that allows the local breezes that go towards the sea in the morning and towards the mountain in the evening to cross its rows in their length, aerating the clusters with a warm and constant breeze.
