Over 56 years ago, Luciano Totò and his wife Lorenzina opened a wonderful little family-run bakery in Porto Sant’Elpidio, a small town along the Adriatic coast in Le Marche Region, Central Italy. Since its opening, Totò Bakery has been producing artisanal and typical products characterized by the traditional flavors of this land. Today, the heir of this family tradition, Paolo, helped by his wife Cristina, bring fresh bread everyday on the table of the inhabitants of their small town. The ancient knowledge and the secrets transmitted by the grandparents to the new generations are still alive in the recipes of Totò’s traditional cakes and bread selection. Nonna Lorenzina’s secret ingredients are jealously protected yet combined with a passion for creativity and innovation which characterizes this little family-run bakery.
In this version, Panettone, one of their best-selling traditional Christmas desserts, is made even more special by the addition of dark chocolate. This cake is made with type 1 flour, rich in bran and wheat germ and therefore highly nutritious. The glaze is made of sugar and low-fat cocoa.
Storage Conditions: Store in a cool and dry place, far from any source of heat and direct sunlight. Once opened, keep the Panettone in its original wrapper or put it in a new plastic food bag, making sure to let the air out and seal it tightly. Under these conditions, the product can be stored for up to 3-4 days.
